Commemoration of the 92 youth oath day which falls on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 has a new meaning and spirit for Nur Agis Aulia, a millennial farmer and founder of Jawara Farm based in Serang Regency, Banten Province.

Agis, as he is called, said that the youth oath day and the agricultural sector are two inseparable correlations in everyday life. “It must be a milestone, where the problem of food must be embedded in the minds of youth,” he said, on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.

According to Agis, as long as Indonesian youth and girls still consume rice, sago, fruit, vegetables and animal nutritional needs, it means that they still need the role of farmers and breeders to fulfill their daily food needs.

“Therefore, it is appropriate for youth and girls throughout Indonesia to care about the agricultural sector, and hopefully they can be directly involved in preparing the best food for the country. Happy Youth Pledge Day, I hope this will become our commitment to contribute to the birth of Indonesian food sovereignty. ! ” he said.

Regarding this, the Minister of Agriculture (Mentan), Syahrul Yasin Limpo explained that this year there are around 33.4 million farmers engaged in all agricultural sector commodities. This figure is much smaller than the number of farmers in the previous year which reached 34.58 million.
